I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 10 years of experience. I have private counseling and psychotherapy offices in downtown New Haven and in Storrs, CT. I have worked as a counselor at Sacred Heart University starting in 2010. I worked as an engineer and a high school math teacher before earning my Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Southern CT State University. In addition to counseling, I have taught counseling and psychology courses at UConn and SCSU. Now, as a counselor, I work with individuals and couples experiencing a wide array of concerns.

Counseling is as much an art as a science. In an effort to balance these seemingly incongruous aspects of my profession, and in an effort to deliver the most effective services, I am continuously seeking out the latest ideas, theoretical approaches, and research in the field as well as peer supervision. As a result of this effort, I have come to utilize an existential and cognitive behavioral approach that focuses on current relationships, unhelpful beliefs, and personal responsibility. I feel that most problems people experience stem from a lack in the quality or quantity of close relationships, past and present, and it is my goal to shine a light on these issues and help to improve interpersonal relationships.
I have found it most helpful to base my practice on trying to understand what it is like to walk in the shoes of the people I work with. Then, it is my belief that through this process of gaining insight and understanding of my clients, my clients can gain similar awareness of themselves.
I made the switch from engineering to teaching to counseling because counseling is truly the right fit for me. I continuously feel honored to share in the inner lives of the people I get to work with.
