Thank you for your interest in my counseling practice. I offer counseling and psychotherapy in a safe, non-judgmental space where I aim to provide the freedom and encouragement to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in an effort to identify and change unhelpful patterns and move towards greater health and happiness.
I know that choosing a counselor is a stressful and challenging task. I have been there myself (all therapists are strongly encouraged to seek counseling for themselves). I understand how difficult it is to determine just from a picture and a few words, if you could feel comfortable and connected to a particular counselor, enough to share personal and intimate concerns, especially at a vulnerable time. My first priority is to help you feel comfortable and safe, even with the mundane aspects of my practice, like discussing fees and your rights as a client. My hope is that, given the right environment, my clients will benefit from the freedom and encouragement to explore themselves and gain a greater awareness of their identities, problems, and relationships and then utilize that awareness to make positive changes in their lives.
Because client-therapist fit is so important, I encourage any potential clients to email me or to call me over the phone (860-874-4362) to set up a first consultation. This initial session is a chance for us to introduce ourselves, for you to tell me about your concerns, for me to tell you more about my practice and how I might be able to help you, and to answer any questions you might have. Then I will ask you to take some time to think about our meeting and call me back if you decide to begin our work together. This way, the decision to begin therapy is yours to make in your own time, with no pressure. I look forward to hearing from you and beginning our work together.
